Hi there, I’m Manish Mahato, a pass-out from GP Dhanbad, currently working in L&T Construction as a DET.
In this post, I’m going to share with you some information about the Junior Engineer Trainee (JET) program at Jindal Steel and Power Limited (JSPL), one of India’s leading steel and power companies.
I have some friends who are working in JSPL Angul and JSPL Patratu, and they have told me a lot about the JET program, its eligibility, salary, facilities, amenities and job locations.
If you are interested in joining JSPL as a JET, then read on to find out more.
What is the JET program?
The JET (also known as DET) program is a one-year training program for diploma holders in various engineering disciplines, such as mechanical, electrical, civil, chemical, etc.
The JETs are given hands-on exposure to various aspects of steel and power production, such as blast furnace, coal washery, sinter plant, pellet plant, coke-oven and by-product plant, coal gasification plant, DRI plant, steel melting shop, slab caster, plate and hot strip mill, oxygen plant, lime and dolomite plant, power plant, etc.
The JETs are also given classroom training on technical subjects, soft skills, safety norms and company policies. The JETs are evaluated on their performance and attendance during the training period.
After successful completion of the training period, the JETs are absorbed as Junior Engineers in JSPL.
