About KVPY: The Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana (KVPY) is a scholarship (fellowship) exam started in the year 1999 and counducted every year for students who want to pursue an undergraduate degree. KVPY was initiated and funded by the Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India and is conducted by the Indian Institute of Science (IISc). The main objective of this program is to identify the talent in the students and encourage them to pursue their careers in the field of research in science.

KVPY offers monthly scholarships to the selected students and also conducts summer camps for all of them in India.

Selection of the students is made from those studying in XI standard to 1st year of any undergraduate Program in Basic Sciences namely B.Sc./B.S./B.Stat./B.Math./Int. M.Sc./M.S. in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology having aptitude for scientific research.

Special groups and Committees are set up at Indian Institute of Science (IISc) to screen the applications and conduct an aptitude test at various centres in India.

In the final stage, short-listed students based on the performance in the Aptitude Test are called for an interview.

In selection Procedure, both the Aptitude test and Interview marks are being considered for receiving scholarship (fellowship).
